Business Entrepreneurship Development (BEDD)
The BEDD program was created to outreach to local businesses within the New York City area to educate them about potential growth through realization of contracts from the New York City and State, as well as Federal and United Nations procurements. Many local business owners are unaware that these opportunities exist and therefore are completely in the dark as to the process of getting registered and submitting bids. Much of the procurement and contracting opportunities are generally awarded to the same cohort of organizations and businesses that are in the know. In an effort to expand access to these opportunities unilaterally, the New Future Foundation’s BEDD program reaches out to business on the community level to solicit participation. In addition to procurement opportunities, the BEDD program also facilitates registration of these business with the New York State department of Corporations. There are many entrepreneurship activities and businesses that are unregistered, and therefore not official business entities that can take advantage of the procurement services offered NFF-BEDD. These efforts are supported by various members of the New York City Council.
